Reza Pahlavi: A Free Iran Would Recognize Israel Immediately

In January 2026 interviews reported by Israel Hayom and Ynet, Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi pledged that a post–Islamic Republic Iran would recognize Israel immediately, end the regime's military nuclear program, and pursue the Cyrus Accords.

Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has stated plainly what a democratic Iran would offer its neighbor. In interviews reported by Israel Hayom on 15 January 2026 and by Ynet, he said that under a free Iran "the State of Israel will be recognized immediately." He tied that recognition to a wider vision: ending the Islamic Republic's military nuclear program, and broadening the Abraham Accords into what he called the "Cyrus Accords," linking a free Iran with Israel and the Arab states "based on mutual recognition, sovereignty and national interest." He contrasted a regime he said had become associated with "terrorism, extremism and poverty" with what he described as "a beautiful, peace-loving and flourishing Iran." The pledge is his own, made as the leader of a civil movement — not a promise on behalf of any government, and not a claim that recognition has already happened. It sets the Iranian side of the reciprocity at the heart of پیمان کوروش: the initiative for peace coming from Iranians themselves.
